Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 9, 2026
Dailyk ("we", "our", or "the app") is a task management application for iOS. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Data We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address - for authentication and account recovery
- Display name - to personalize your experience
- User ID - a unique identifier for your account
You can sign in with email/password or Sign in with Apple. When using Sign in with Apple, we receive only the data Apple provides based on your preferences. You can also use the app in guest mode without creating an account.
Location Data
If you enable location-based reminders, the app accesses your precise location to:
- Display your location on the map when selecting a task location
- Monitor geofence regions to send reminders when you arrive at or leave a specified area
Location data is processed on your device and is not sent to our servers. Background location access is used solely for geofence monitoring.
Personal Task Data
Your personal tasks, deadlines, notes, and other content you create are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data is not transmitted to external servers.
Group Task Data
When you create or join a group, the following data is stored on Google Cloud Firestore (Firebase):
- Group information - group name, member list, invitations (shared via a link or QR code)
- Group tasks - task titles, descriptions, deadlines, assigned members, completion status
- Member data - display names, user IDs, and roles within the group
Group data is shared with all members of the group and synced in real time. Only group members can access the group's data.
Group invitations are shared as a link or QR code. If someone opens an invite link without the app installed, a web page at dailyk.app opens to direct them to the App Store. Like any website, our server may log standard request data such as IP address; the page itself contains no analytics or tracking.
Subscription Data
Dailyk+ is an account-level subscription. Your subscription status (active/inactive, product ID, expiration date) is determined by Apple StoreKit. For groups you own, an active/inactive flag derived from this status is synced to your group documents in Firestore so that other members can see whether a group is active. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple — we do not collect or store payment information, credit card numbers, or billing details.
2. How We Use Your Data
- Authentication: To create and secure your account
- Location reminders: To notify you about tasks when you are near a specified location
- Personal tasks: To provide core task management features (stored locally)
- Group tasks: To enable real-time task sharing and collaboration between group members
- Subscription: To manage Dailyk+ entitlements and the number of groups you can create (group members are unlimited in every tier)
- Advertising measurement: To understand — in aggregate and anonymously — which ad campaigns bring new users (via Apple SKAdNetwork)
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Firebase Authentication (Google) - for user authentication. Firebase processes your email, name, and user ID.
- Cloud Firestore (Google) - for storing and syncing group tasks, group information, and subscription status. Data is hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure (europe-west3 region).
- Apple StoreKit - for processing Dailyk+ subscription purchases. All payment data is handled by Apple.
- AppsFlyer - for measuring which of our advertising campaigns lead to app installs (install attribution). We use Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork framework only: the app does not access the advertising identifier (IDFA) and shows no tracking permission prompt. AppsFlyer receives limited, anonymous technical data (such as device model, OS version, IP-derived coarse region, and a vendor-scoped app identifier) that is not linked to your identity. AppsFlyer's privacy policy: appsflyer.com/legal/services-privacy-policy
Firebase's privacy policy: firebase.google.com/support/privacy
We do not show third-party ads inside the app and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. Ad-campaign measurement uses Apple's SKAdNetwork, which is designed so installs cannot be linked to individual users.
4. Data Storage and Security
- Personal task data is stored locally on your device only
- Group task data is stored on Cloud Firestore (Google Cloud, europe-west3) and shared with group members
- Authentication data is managed by Firebase (hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure)
- Subscription status is determined by Apple StoreKit at the account level; an active/inactive flag for groups you own is synced to Firestore so other members can see a group's status
- Location data is processed on-device and not stored externally
- We do not sell, share, or transfer your personal data to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes
5. Your Rights
You can:
- Delete your account - through the app's Settings. This removes your authentication data from Firebase
- Leave a group - this removes your access to group data. If you are the group owner and delete the group, all group data is permanently removed from Firestore
- Revoke location access - through iOS Settings at any time
- Delete task data - by deleting individual tasks or removing the app from your device
- Cancel subscription - through iOS Settings → Subscriptions at any time
6. Children's Privacy
Dailyk is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
